This test is used for the serological detection of autoimmune
diseases(
e.g. lupus erythematodes). If the test yields a negative
result, a biopsy should be taken and examined, as the serological
testing can be negative especially in case of local changes. Low
positive titres may also occur in many general diseases.
Description
The ANA ( Antinuclear antibody ) test is used specifically for the diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosis (SLE) with the associated clinical and laboratory findings).
