ELISA
- In animal serum, IgA is found in lower concentrations than the other immunoglobulins. It is considered the most important immunoglobulin in the outer conjunctival ecretions and in the urine, and is present in secretory form.
- In dogs, IgA is an important diagnostic marker of steroid responsive meningitis-arteritis.

High levels of IgA in both serum and CSF suggests steroid responsive meningitis-arteritis.
